Throughout the region, thousands of rock-carved spaces exist alongside hundreds of rock-hewn churches and multilayered underground cities. Some of these subterranean settlements descend eight to ten stories beneath the earth’s surface. Philosophy Carved in Stone, Vision Shaped by Time
We’ve been working in Cappadocia since 2003, devoting ourselves to projects that honor and reflect the region’s traditional architectural heritage.
Rock carving and the creation of carved spaces in Cappadocia represent a traditional craft passed from generation to generation across centuries. The workable nature of the region’s volcanic tuff has enabled highly skilled hand craftsmanship both historically and today. The master craftspeople and workers in this field possess expertise that goes far beyond carving techniques—they understand rock behavior, fracture patterns, and structural integrity through years of hands-on site experience.
Our team has worked in this region for decades, combining traditional Cappadocian carving methods with modern conservation principles and engineering standards. We deliver exceptional results in both restoration projects and the creation of new rock-carved spaces. This accumulated knowledge allows us to successfully translate Cappadocia’s authentic craft traditions into internationally significant projects.
Beyond our expert project and construction management team, we maintain an extensive field crew that scales according to project demands. Many of our master craftspeople—particularly those handling intricate detail work—carry forward the generational knowledge of traditional Cappadocian stone mastery, skills passed from father to son across decades. Around this core of specialized talent, we can expand our workforce to approximately 100 people when projects require it.
Our team composition includes roughly 10 master carvers specializing in fine detail work, 15 experienced rock craftspeople preparing surfaces for precision carving, 40 specialists working with hand-breaking tools for primary excavation, and support labor handling material transport and debris removal.
The regional hardness variations in Cappadocian tuff directly impact production rates—in softer areas, a skilled carver might achieve 5-6 cubic meters daily, while harder formations may yield closer to 1 cubic meter per day.
This flexible, specialized team structure enables us to execute rock carving projects of varying scales and complexity effectively, with full control and technical compliance throughout.
